What does it mean to pursue Christ? What does making Him Lord of all mean? How do we give Him that place of preeminence He deserves in our hearts? Those questions will be answered throughout this series. We have already considered the principles of exalting, loving, and following Christ. Now we will consider The Principle of Obeying Christ. If we are going to pursue Jesus, then it is imperative that we obey Him, not only in the areas where we are comfortable doing so, but also in the areas where we are stretched. In part 1, Dr. Gonzalez reminded us about: the only and necessary foundation, foundational differences, and the two types of foundations. In part 2 of The Principle of Obedience he discusses the principles for building on the right foundation and fellowship as the natural outcome of obedience. _________________________________________________________________   Today’s podcast was brought to you by Time in the Word. We then discuss the author and/or artist(s) and the song.We look into the lyrics of each song - relating it to the time in which it was originally played on the radio and what, if any, meaning it has today. We make a "Cross Connection" to each song and relate the lyrics to the "timeless" principles taught in God's word. At times, we part theological company with those who might use their talents in music to deny God's word. We always do our best to point that out on the program. In all, we hold true to the Word without compromise! We do not attempt to judge or promote the lifestyle of any artist we feature but rather look at their work and use the songs to share God's love. Our hosts each week are Mick Wells and Pastor Rick Smith. Our format is very laid back and has been described as’ two The Extra In The Ordinary Erica Boerman Here we celebrate the little "extras" in our ordinary lives. And really, nothing about living out our lives under the authority of the Word of God and in the power of the Spirit is ordinary. It is extraordinary. However, sometimes amidst the diapers, FAFSA applications, driving lessons, tadpole catching, laundry, and general every day life, we don't pause to see the little extra something. It's the twinkle in your kid's eye as he shows you what he made in art that week. It's the silent tear that you barely catch a glimpse of when she walks through the door. It's the never-ending bedtime questions that might be a stall tactic - or it just might be the moment he knows he has your undivided attention for the first time that day. That's the extra. That's what makes the ordinary stand at attention. It's what makes us say, "Thank you, Lord, I almost missed this."
