Throughout history many world leaders have proven themselves to be demagogues. A demagogue develops a following due to their ability to speak to the emotions, passions and prejudices of others. Being a demagogue runs afoul if and when the leader portrays themselves as a savior of the people. This is known as a "messiah complex". As believers, we know and understand the importance of obeying the laws of the land. However, we know that our one true Messiah is Jesus Himself. Join us this Sunday for our sermon, "The Promised King," from Micah 5:1-5, where we'll be encouraged by prophecy of the coming King, Jesus!
