THE PROOF OF MATURITYNumbers 20:8 (NIV)Take the staff, and you and your brother Aaron gather the assembly together. Speak to that rock before their eyes and it will pour out its water. You will bring water out of the rock for the community so they and their livestock can drink.The maturity of a Christian isn’t measured by the miracles, signs, or wonders that follow them. Today’s verse recounts the moment God commanded Moses to speak to the rock so water would flow. Instead, Moses struckthe rock, yet water still flowed. This shows that visible results don’t always signify obedience. True maturity is proven by heeding God’s voice and aligning yourself with His instruction.Personal growth and maturity depend on your fellowship with the Lord through prayer and the Word. Demonstrate your commitment to maturity by living according to God’s Word concerning you and your family.
