The Purpose of Work

from Open House Church Sermons · host KJ Tromp

Work can give deep satisfaction, yet it can also become the measure of a person's worth. Work was never meant to carry that weight. God gave Adam the garden to work before sin made labour painful, and He still gives people abilities to develop creation and serve others. People can seek fitting work by noticing what moves them, testing their abilities honestly, and considering the opportunities God provides. Work remains a good servant, not a lord, because identity in Christ brings humility in success and stability in failure or unemployment. Bible Reference: Genesis 1:28 Preacher: KJ Tromp
