The push to recommit to national Pharmacare

Vancouver Fire Rescue Services is scaling back the number of medical calls crews respond to in the Downtown Eastside — saying extreme demand is stretching resources at one of the busiest firehalls in the country. The BC SPCA says demand for its pet food bank program has skyrocketed across British Columbia, while donations are falling at what the organization describes as one of the steepest declines it has seen. More than 60 organizations across Canada are urging the federal government to recommit to national Pharmacare after comments from federal Health Minister Marjorie Michel suggested current Pharmacare funding could expire in the coming years.
