The Pussycat Dolls Vs Nicole Scherzinger | A Timeline of the PCD Multiverse (Ep.17)

The dolls are back… but is it unity or unfinished business? 👀 This week on The Weekly Wind Down, Jer is in full pop culture professor mode—breaking down the messy, magnetic, and lowkey legendary saga of The Pussycat Dolls vs. Nicole Scherzinger. From burlesque beginnings in LA to global chart domination, reality TV shakeups, lineup switches, lawsuits, and now ANOTHER comeback…we’re asking the real question: is this a girl group revival or a solo star in disguise? But before we get into the Doll Domination of it all, Jer kicks things off with a lil’ retrograde reality check (because why does time feel fake lately??), celebrates charting in the music commentary podcast streets (period!), and addresses the pop culture chaos we didn’t ask for: yes, we’re talking about Beyoncé’s nephew Jules Smith and that Gaye Pride event controversy… whew. Then it’s straight to the main stage: ✨ The origin story of PCD as a burlesque troupe with celeb cameos ✨ The Don’t Cha switch-up and industry shadiness with Tori Alamaze ✨ Nicole’s “lead vocalist” era vs. group dynamics ✨ Iconic eras (When I Grow Up, Buttons, Doll Domination) ✨ Reality TV, rebrands, and rotating lineups ✨ The 2020 reunion that COVID snatched away ✨ Lawsuits, power plays, and that 75% stake request 👀 ✨ And now… the trio comeback with Kimberly & Ashley Jer connects all the dots with humor, nostalgia, and a lil’ side-eye—while giving flowers to the underrated dolls and asking whether this latest era will finally get it right. So… are YOU buying tickets or just watching from the timeline? Press play, pour something cute, and let’s wind down. 💋 Chapters 00:00 – Welcome In 01:40 – Our podcast is CHARTING!!! 02:13 – Jules Smith…The New Joanne The Scammer 07:30 – PCD Is Back on Tour!
