THE CONCLUSION OF FIRE ISLAND AND THE BEGINNING OF THE VILLAGE OF ATLANTIC BEACH: Atlantic Beach is a village located on the west end of the Long Beach Barrier Island in the Town of Hempstead, in Nassau County, New York, United States.[3][4] The population was 1,707 at the time of the 2020 census.[5]The Incorporated Village of Atlantic Beach is located on Long Beach Barrier Island – one of the outer barrier islands – which it shares with Long Beach, East Atlantic Beach, Lido Beach, and Point Lookout. It is a suburb of New York City and shares a maritime border with Far Rockaway, Queens.To the North, Atlantic Beach is bordered by Reynolds Channel and East Rockaway Inlet.
