The Rapture vs. Ascension

Welcome to the 31st episode of the God and Game Theory Podcast, where we break free from the shackles of this world—because heaven on earth is drawing near. In this powerful episode, host Tom Peterson challenges one of the most widely accepted teachings in modern Christianity: the rapture. Tracing its origins back to the 1800s and figures like John Nelson Darby, this episode explores how this concept was popularized through the Scofield Reference Bible—and why it may not align with scripture as commonly believed. Instead of a physical escape from Earth, this episode presents a deeper, spiritual interpretation rooted in biblical text—focusing on ascension, awareness, and becoming active participants in God’s kingdom. We explore key passages including: First Epistle to the Thessalonians Book of Daniel Book of Revelation Book of Exodus Epistle to the Ephesians This episode breaks down the symbolic meaning of “clouds,” “air,” and “kingdom,” revealing a powerful message about God’s presence within us—and what it truly means to live in the light. If you’ve ever questioned what you’ve been taught… this episode is for you.
