THE RASPBERRY JAMS

from Sessions @33 · host Kannon Steinmeyer

The Raspberry Jams are an up-and-coming teenage melodic art punk band from Chicago. They are a genre bending and genre defying duo since coming together in 2023. Their sound encompasses elements of rockabilly, garage rock, punk, post punk, emo and grunge. Lyrically they are both poetic and visceral, crafting personal experience, biting social commentary, fictional dreamscapes and modern teenage life into songs of beauty and terror.   After meeting their freshman year of high school, their shared passion for music inspired them to form a band. They are the embodiment of DIY culture, spending enumerable hours learning multiple instruments unassisted, writing, engineering, and recording all original material, as well as creating the entirety of their visual print and video media.   The Raspberry Jams went semi-viral on TikTok in November 2023, after posting a video to celebrate the release of our three-song single “The Raspberry Jams (We’re Jamming)”. They gained 3,000 followers in 24 hours. On October 4, 2024, they released their debut full-length album “Kitty Cat Fever”. They started playing shows in summer of 2024 and have been continuing to build their fanbase by playing shows in Chicago and posting on social media to keep up the momentum, and keep their fans engaged.    Setlist:  1.
