The Raven by Edgar Allan Poe | Gothic Poetry, Lost Lenore and “Nevermore”

A raven interrupts a grieving scholar’s lonely December night in Edgar Allan Poe’s “The Raven.” Mourning Lenore, the narrator opens his chamber to a visitor whose single word seems to answer questions no living person can resolve. Curiosity becomes dread as he keeps asking, unable to resist the reply. Henrique Couto reads this classic Gothic poem of loss, memory and self-torment, letting its insistent rhythm draw you deeper into the room.
