The people of Israel are referred to as God’s chosen people. They are scorned and persecuted by much of the world but the children of Abraham were set apart by God. “Abraham believed God and it was counted to him for righteousness”. Today, Jewish people are not promised eternal life because they are descendants of Abraham. All people are saved by the grace of God and considered righteous through faith in Jesus. Jew and Gentile all must come to Christ the same way. We all depend on God’s mercy.
