Ron DeSantis had reduced his public appearances during the final weeks of December, and it didn't take long for left-wing media outlets and far-left politicians to pounce on the story. Claims that he was "missing in action" and speculation that he was sick with covid ran rampant.MSNBC nut case Joy Reid tweeted speculation that he was on vacation: "A governor, not governing during a crisis; and sunning his belly on vacation instead."Nikki Fried, who plans to run against DeSantis this year tweeted: “As COVID surges in Florida again, our governor is absent."And then there was AOC, who tweeted: "Hasn’t Gov. DeSantis been inexplicably missing for like 2 weeks? If he’s around, I would be happy to say hello. His social media team seems to have been posting old photos for weeks."...of course, AOC tweeted this while sipping cocktails unmasked, enjoying the freedoms citizens get in Florida. Meanwhile, NYC, the state she represents, is reporting its highest covid cases ever. The truth is DeSantis has been out of the public eye because he's been accompanying his wife as she underwent cancer treatment. Casey DeSantis was diagnosed with breast cancer in October of last year. He wasn't on vacation. He wasn't sick with Covid. He was caring for his wife.Perspective: I don't recall anyone in the left-wing media complaining when Biden's Secretary of Transportation, Pete Buttigieg, took months off for paternity leave in the middle of a massive supply chain crisis.
