Starting with his days as a hockey umpire, before turning to golf as recreation, and being baffled by the Rules. From there he hasn't looked back. Being the Tournament DIrector of one of Australia's best amateur golf tournaments, the Riversdale Cup for the last 15 years, as well as refereeing at Australian, Victorian and New South Wales professional tournaments. Barry has been an absolute stalwart for referee development and opportunity, the irony for his own development isn't lost on him. But he prefers to move on from that and just be the helping hand wherever he is needed.
