The Regime is a darkly comedic six-episode series that tells the story of life within the walls of a fictional European autocracy as it begins to unravel. Chancellor Elena Vernham (portrayed by Academy Award-winning Kate Winslet) leads this regime, but her dictatorship is showing cracks. She grows increasingly paranoid and unstable, eventually turning to a volatile soldier, Herbert Zubak (played by Matthias Schoenaerts), as an unlikely confidant.
