It situates prayer in the context of the whole work of God- what it means for God to exist in Trinity, what it means for Man to exist as a corporate organism, a family of many nations bifurcated by maleness and femaleness, and what it means for the cosmos to exist as a revelation of God's inner life that has been situated within man and made dependent upon him. It argues that our prayer is important not merely insofar as it constitutes a request for Him to act, but as an *actual instrument by which God acts in the world.* Your prayer can be the answer to prayer. To pray for a sick person to be healed may be the very instrument through which divine, uncreated grace flows into the world, through you, to that person such that the human family grows more intimately bound together and the creation brought nearer to its purpose: in which God, through Jesus Christ, by the Spirit in the Church, is over all, through all, and in all.
