The words of Jesus are still unfolding today. That entrapment around the question of fasting becomes an opportunity for Jesus to address the elephant in the room. Jesus didn’t come to offer an upgrade to the law. Jesus didn’t come to regress between old and new covenants. No, Jesus came to usher in a new, eternal system of grace and life. This Message cuts to the core of why we do what we do and how we can best implement his teachings from old wine and wineskins into new wine and new wineskins. It is not a message for the faint-hearted or those who choose to stay where they are and change not! Either way, we all make a choice, and that choice counts.
