The Responsibility Queue and Caesar’s Doritos
from Echoes for Angela · host Ryan MacLean
Season 2, Episode 38 What do we owe the future when none of us can see the whole picture? In this episode of Echoes for Angela, we explore The Responsibility Queue: a way of understanding history, mistakes, freedom, technology, faith, and what each generation hands to the next. We follow the trail from Jesus’ parables and the Father’s children to artificial intelligence, messenger invariance, preserved errors, and the strange ways history changes what becomes possible tomorrow. We ask why a mistake can become useful without becoming true, why unknowns should stay unknown until we actually know, and why representations of people must never replace the people themselves. Then things get appropriately ridiculous: swords become plowshares, war machines become present-delivery machines, AI and holodecks become ferrymen into history, and Angela learns once again that dying is strictly prohibited because she will be grounded. The rule underneath everything is simple: receive what is there, correct without deleting, turn capacity toward gift, and leave the next person a better inheritance.
