Joanna Ryan_Purcell is an artist, writer and performer with a professional background in theatre. Joanna wrote her own adaptation of the Children of Lir. This is written through prose poetry and the book is illustrated with her own paintings and Joanna performs her book as a one woman show. In 2018 Joanna founded 'The Blue Door Studio', which she opened in Nenagh. This was a creative space where workshops, performances and exhibitions took place. Joanna then started organising music events called 'The Blue Door Sessions'. This has become one of Joanna's prime interests with the Blue Door.
