The Resurrection and Rapture

Has what we've been told about "the rapture" been shaped by the popular fiction book and film series titled "Left Behind?" In this popular film, people all over the globe suddenly disappeared leaving only a pile of clothes behind, consequently propelling the world into chaos and a time of trouble never experienced in earth's history. However, does this depiction align with what the Scriptures explicitly teach? What many fail to realize is the rapture of the living is the second half of a two-part event.
