It’s easy to get wrapped up in all the great things creators do, but we spend some time this episode discussing just how vitally important and influential the audience is. We kick things off by extending a huge thank you to all the Patreon supporters who helped bring Mind Blow back – it really could not have happened without you.  Contrary to popular belief, Kevin actually isn’t a rich, extravagant YouTuber like his subscriber count may make you think. We talk about the misconceptions people have about the financial side of being a creator, and how so many of the revenue streams in online entertainment have changed over the years. It’s been a pretty big undertaking to bring Mind Blow back, and Kevin wanted to make sure he did it right. He talks a little bit about the team he brought on to make the project better than ever, and the absolutely crucial role that the patrons play. Oh, and Kevin talks about his primal rage for “smashing that like button.” We finish out the episode by talking about the state of titles on YouTube today, and the strangely regressive turn they’ve taken. Kevin likens it to a 2013 Buzzfeed article, while Matt actually thinks there’s more to it than you might believe.
