The Revelation of Jesus Christ
from Bible Highlights · host Cleandro Viana
The Revelation of Jesus Christ“The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave Him to show His servants things which must shortly take place. And He sent and signified it by His angel to His servant John.” - Revelation 1:1. The book of Revelation begins with a powerful truth: it is not a book of mystery meant to confuse us, but a revelation. To reveal means to “uncover,” to make clear what was hidden. Right in the very first verse, we see that the focus is not just on the future, but on Jesus Christ Himself.God gave this revelation to Jesus, who passed it on through an angel to John. That means everything we read in Revelation comes straight from the heart of God, through His Son, all the way to us. That shows how much He wants us to be ready for the last days. The verse says: “things which must shortly take place.” The Bible always reminds us that the end is near. You might think, “But it’s been almost two thousand years already!” That’s true. Yet God wants every generation to live with the expectation that Jesus could return at any moment. That sense of urgency calls us to live seriously, without wasting time on distractions that pull us away from Him.John received this vision while exiled on the island of Patmos, alone and suffering for his faith. And yet, it was in that moment of pain and isolation that Jesus revealed Himself in the most glorious way. That reminds us that often it’s in the darkest seasons of our lives that God speaks to us the clearest. So here’s the message for you: Revelation is not a book of fear, but of hope. It shows us that history is not random, that Christ is in control, and that the ending is already guaranteed for those who follow Him.Today, Jesus wants you to look beyond the rush of life, beyond struggles, and even beyond fears of the future. He wants to reveal to you that He is the center of everything, the Victor, and that He is coming soon.Pray with me:“Lord Jesus, open my eyes to see who You really are. Help me live every day as if You were coming today. Strengthen my faith in the hard moments, and let me hold on to the revelation of Your love. Amen.”
