The Rider (2017) with Chelsea Christer
In my journeys on this podcast, I’ve been sharing time with friends old and new and meeting fresh faces along the way. Chelsea Christer was a special one as I found myself in one of my most inspired week’s creatively in both researching, interviewing, recording and doing the promo video “The Decline of Podcast Civilization”. She’s back here and we are talking about another film on her list she originally gave me, Chloe Zhao’s The Rider. I really enjoy Chelsea’s filmic insight and her eye for these things. And this was a damn good one to talk about on the show. (I really enjoy the sharp left turns this show takes; in 3 weeks we’ve gone from a 1960s Haunted House movie to a 2003 big studio rom com to now a indie personal character drama from 2017). BUT – That’s not all! We both are quite enamored with Bo Burnham’s latest Netflix special, Inside. So we have dedicated the “What Else” segment into an added discussion about that. It’s kind of a double feature episode. It was great having Chelsea back on and hearing about her creative prospects and talking about some fun film stuff.
