The Right Kind - Pastor Chris Cope

from Keystone North Church

This week we unpacked the difference between cultural niceness and biblical kindness through the Parable of the Good Samaritan in Luke 10. Our culture often equates kindness with simply agreeing with or affirming everyone’s feelings and choices—but Scripture paints a deeper picture. True kindness begins with genuine compassion and is willing to tell the truth, make sacrifices, and sometimes even confront what’s wrong. Biblical kindness means doing what’s good for others, even when it costs you something—not just keeping people comfortable. Jesus modeled this perfectly. He wasn’t always “nice,” but He was always kind. His kindness leads us to repentance, heals what’s broken, and transforms us to look more like Him. As we walk with the Holy Spirit, kindness should naturally overflow from our lives—not as forced politeness, but as genuine love in action.
