The Righteous Are Being Tested
from Brookside Church of God - Sermons Hosted by Brookside Church of God
When the pressure will not let up, is God absent, or is He the one doing the testing? In "The Righteous Are Being Tested," Pastor Brad Lindsey sets aside the message he had prepared and preaches Psalm 11, where the Lord sits in His holy temple and His eyelids test the sons of men. He argues the weight so many people are carrying is examination rather than abandonment, the kind Peter says leaves faith proved genuine and more precious than gold. Israel in the wilderness is the warning under it, a generation God took into the sand to make them wholly dependent on Him, who grumbled through the test and left no testimony behind. The call is to receive the testing as a calling and come out of it with a faith that will not shake.
