The Rise and Ruin of Absalom (2 Samuel 15 - 18)

Share a commentPower, pride, and betrayal take center stage in Absalom’s tragic rise and fall. Driven by ambition, David’s son launches a rebellion, winning the hearts of Israel and forcing his father to flee. But while Absalom’s schemes seem successful, David places his trust in the Lord, refusing to fight in his own strength. Along the way, key players emerge—a deceptive servant, a loyal friend, and an unexpected act of divine intervention. In the end, Absalom’s pride leads to his ruin, proving that human power is temporary, but God’s sovereignty is eternal. How should you respond when opposition rises against you? Should you fight back or leave justice to God? This episode explores the dangers of unchecked ambition and the security of trusting God’s plan, even when it seems like the enemy is winning.Make a donation: https://www.wisdomonline.org/giveStephen Davey's newest book, The Disciples Prayer, is available now. https://www.wisdomonline.org/store/view/the-disciples-prayer-hardbackLearn more about twenty-five years of global impact, and reserve tickets to our gala. https://www.wisdomonline.org/mp/25 Learn more at https://www.wisdomonline.org/Support the show
