The Road to Recovery Pt. 3 - Openly Confess

from Crossroads Go · host Crossroads Church

Dealing with our hurts, hang-ups, and habits. The overarching theme of this series is that we all are in need of recovery. Recovery isn’t just for addicts. We all have hurts, hang-ups, or habits that hurt us and/or others. We are all on the road to recovery. James 5:16 TLB - “Admit your faults to one another and pray for each other so that you may be healed.” Psalms 32:1–2 TLB - “What happiness for those whose guilt has been forgiven! What relief for those who have confessed their sins and God has cleared their record.” Proverbs 28:13 GNB - “You will never succeed in life if you try to hide your sins. Confess them and give them up, then God will show mercy to you.” 1 John 1:9 Phillips - “If we freely admit that we have sinned, we find God utterly reliable … he forgives our sins and makes us thoroughly clean from all that is evil.” Invite someone on your road to recovery. How can we activate in-service? Identify someone you could confess and open up with regarding your hurt, hang-up, or habit. Get prayer. Ask for help. Open up. How can we activate it this week? Meet with that person this week. Don’t delay. You won’t stay on the road to recovery very long if you go it alone.
