The Gauteng province of South Africa will play host to one of the most talked about conferences in the year 2017, the ANC 54th Elective Conference. The party has seen the biggest number of candidates running for party president in its history. There are seven presidential hopefuls and amongst them are two front runners, current deputy president Cyril Ramaphosa and former AU Commission Chair Dr Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma. Provinces are in the process of concluding their nominations meetings in preparation for the elective conference. The conference will see the end of President Zuma as head of the ANC after two terms.
