In the fall of 2021, Luna stayed at the Blue Heron Motel outside Ely, Minnesota. The motel had a room—Room 7—that no one talked about. The manager warned her not to open the closet door. She opened it anyway. Inside was a child's rocking chair, still warm, rocking on its own. This is the story of what happened that night, of the woman in the photograph on the nightstand, and of the sound that came from the rocking chair long after the room should have been empty.
