The Rogge Sisters Dance on their Huge Balls - Circus Vaudeville Fun
from spookylorre
February 1966: one of the rare TV appearances of the legendary Rogge Sisters. Dora, Vera and Gerda appeared in circus shows around the world: Circus Krone in Germany, Circus Knie in Switzerland, Kelvin Hall in Scotland, and Tower Circus in Blackpool, England. When Dora dropped out, Juliette Foster joined up, and they appeared with Ringling Bros/Barnum & Bailey. The act looked easy, but was dangerous. In September of 1963, at a Barnum circus performance, one of the sisters fell off her ball, and needed medical attention. But, worse problems happen off-stage. The act apparently came to an end after a trailer fire took the life of Vera Rogge. Today, most gyms have huge rubber balls for a variety of healthy exercises. Getting on top of one and dancing is not usually encouraged.
