My guest today is an unheralded swamp bucket honk a Billie toe tapping entertainer. He was born in Arkansas and devoured all there was musically speaking. He toured the southeastern United States and when he was back home operated the Rockwood Club where the likes of Jerry Lee Lewis and Conway Twitty came to play. He took that gospel infused rock n roll boogie woogie roots to Canada where he formed a band which included Robbie Robertson, Richard Manual, Garth Hudson and Fellow Razorback Levon Helm. This Mojo Man survived and thrived in the music industry by touring and cutting albums with cats like Duane Allman and Pat Travers. He barnstormed North America playing Maple Leaf Gardens and Madison Square Garden. From greasy strip joints to The Last Waltz on Thanksgiving @ Winterland. Ronnie Hawkins welcome to the JFS
