The Scarecrow of Oz Chapter 9 - The Kingdom of Jinxland

In which Trot, Cap’n Bill, and Button-Bright are carried by birds across a vast desert to a radiant, serene land called Jinxland, where they meet a kind woman who tells them about the harsh rule of its king. They venture forth with cautious hopefulness, pondering the strange kingdom and its mysteries, until a sudden sound of sorrow arrests their progress near the king’s castle.
