S. House, 2A) Omar barely wins Minnesota seat by 50-48% 3) Reuters has Biden at 40% approval rating, up 2 points since July. His disapproval is at 55%. The reason for the gain is a 9 point improvement among Democrats from 69% to 78%. 3A) The concern over Biden's mental health is as follows: Democrats 39% Republicans 82% Independents 56% 4) Fallout intensifies over Trump raid. Sen Josh Hawley calls for him to resign or be impeached. McConnell demands answers. 4A) Trump takes the 5th in NY AG probe. 5) Rep. Scott Perry of the Freedom Caucas has his cell phone seized by the FBI as part of the 1-6 investigation. Republicans are outraged and demand answers. 6) Consumer Price Index comes in at 8.5%, down from 9.1% last month. Airline tickets and gas prices drop lead the way. Rents and food remain elevated. Gas prices decline from $5.01 in June to $4.01 in July. Still up 44% year over year. 6A) Core CPI excluding food and energy came in at 5.9%. 390 basis points above the Federal Reserve target. 6B) The Federal Reserve is likely to win the battle with Inflation over time. But at what cost? Rates likely to be raised another 50 basis points at the September meeting. 7) Stocks rally and the VIX fear index falls to 20. It hit a peak of 35 in June. 8) DHS to end "Remain in Mexico policy" allowing asylum seekers to enter the U.S. This is a result of the recent Supreme Court ruling and the reversal of a U.S. District judges reversing his temporary ruling 9) Ukraine destroys 9 planes in Crimea expanding the war 10) Betting markets now have DeSantis at 23% and Trump at 20% for Republican nomination
