The Scholar of Slaughter: The Bournemouth Beach Murders

On May 24, 2024, Nasen Saadi, a 20-year-old university student, carried out a random and brutal stabbing attack on Durley Chine Beach in Bournemouth, resulting in the death of Amy Grey and serious injuries to her friend Leanne Miles. Investigation revealed that Saadi, a criminology and forensic psychology student, had meticulously planned the crime for months by researching police investigation techniques, purchasing multiple knives, and scouting the beach to avoid leaving DNA evidence. Despite his attempts to evade capture by destroying physical evidence and denying his involvement, he was identified through CCTV and bank records and subsequently sentenced to life imprisonment with a minimum term of over 39 years.
