The Sci-Fi Podcast – S2E6: Dark Phoenix

Welcome to The SciFi Podcast, a wretched hive of scum and villainy a bi-weekly podcast focused on in-depth discussions of all things science fiction. The SciFi Podcast features four hosts—Mattroid, Solo, Nick and Station!—and frequent guests. Each episode we look at a science fiction theme or franchise and take the discussion where no show has gone before. In this episode, Mattroid is joined by former guest and friend of the podcast Jonasty. Jonas and Mattroid discuss the newly released X-Men film Dark Phoenix, with franchise fan Jonas enjoying it as much as to be expected and Mattroid delivering some surprising opinions and thoughts on the movie. The other co-hosts were unable to join but will be voicing their opinions in the next episode. With this being the final film in the Fox-run franchise, how does it hold up against the rest? Will Marvel take over from here? When? What are you hoping they’ll keep? Change? So many questions about a series with incredibly imaginative characters and stories rooted in social issues and sci-fi wonder. We’ll just have to wait and see.
