Does Worrying about What Other People Think Make Us Happy?“When we asked, ‘What was your biggest regret?’ a lot of people said, ‘I wish I hadn’t spent so much time worrying about what other people think'" according to the Harvard Happiness Study.Fear is a primal emotion and goes to the heart of our survival drive in the physical world. Our survival as humans, as a tribal species, is dependent upon our being accepted by the tribe. If we got rejected by the tribe, historically it literally could mean death due to lose of protection and shelter. In the modern era, fear of societal rejection triggers our limbic or reptilian brain.
