The Science of Happiness/Yes you can be happy post TBI
from Z Z Archive 2014 · host Brain Injury Radio
Join me at 8:00P Eastern Standard Time, 5:00P Pacific for THE SCIENCE OF HAPPINESS. My name is LoriPurdy Faitel and I am a Survivor. We are all survivors or we wouldn’t be here. I survived a Traumatic Brain Injury in 1986, I was in what I guess could best be described as a high level coma for 7 days. I only know what people tell me, except for minutes here and there for the first year or so. I guess I had to re-learn to move, breath, walk, talk, all body functions; kinda like a new born (as I understand it). As I began to function like a person again I guess the ability of my brain was pretty good with motion and movement. Balance, I had difficulty with balance for years and every once in awhile I get off balance even today. At one point someone told me or my parents not to expect me to regain much beyond the intelligence of an 8th grade student. Forget that I never gave up and with the help of our Lord Jesus Christ I returned to college and have been a practicing Occupational Therapy Assistant, State Licensed and Certified aka COTA, for more than 20 years now!!!!! Listen to my show tonight as I play an earlier show from a different station where I was interviewed; and join me in listening to part one of what I hope will be many more interviews that I did with Kim Justus, of the show that follows me tonight. Recovery Now. Kim is a survivor and has a very interesting story to tell. Our interview was cut off at one time by technical issues, we were able to resume but I have so much more I would love to learn about Kim and her life. I truly hope you join me again at my next show Wednesday January 22.
