The Se7en Churches: Loveless, The Church of Ephesus The church of Ephesus once loved The Lord, but over time their heart began to grow cold. The church of Ephesus knew the Lord in their head, but became the loveless church as they lost the love of the Lord in their heart. Many in the church today still act like this loveless church of Ephesus. There was a time when they were on fire for the Lord, but over time that fire has died down. Their love for the Lord has become cold. As Jesus reminds the Church of Ephesus of the first love they lost, He uses their story to remind us of our love for the Lord. Because when we lose our first love, the Lord can easily remove our lamp stand!
