The Second Goal — Building a Body and Mind That Can Enjoy Money

from *“Yesterday, I Went to Mars ♡”* · host MakotowillOlympusMons

In this episode, I reflect on an idea I recently came across: three goals for a successful life. The first is to generate money. The second is to build a body and mind that can actually enjoy that money. The third is to look back one day and feel that life was meaningful. Most of us focus heavily on the first goal. Especially in business, numbers matter. But what interested me most was the second one. What does it mean to create the physical and emotional capacity to enjoy what we earn?I also share a thought from Tibetan philosophy — that there is no direct word for “guilt,” only something closer to “an intelligent regret that leads to doing things differently.” It shifts the focus from self-blame to growth.Through the metaphor of the lotus — growing from mud into something beautiful — I explore how difficulty, failure, and uncertainty may not be obstacles to avoid, but conditions for growth. This episode is a quiet reflection on money, mindset, resilience, and how the “seeds” we plant in our awareness today shape the life we experience tomorrow. No grand conclusions — just an invitation to think about what we are really building, and whether we are also building the capacity to enjoy it.
