The Secret Diary

from Invisible Choir · host Reach Freaks

“Why didn’t she just leave?” This is a question usually proposed by the uninformed. Individuals unaware of just how difficult and dangerous it is for victims of domestic violence to get out of their toxic relationship. It’s never that simple and everyone’s situation is different. A young school teacher by the name of Amber Guichelaar was one of these women. She wanted to get out and almost did. A tragedy that was first reported as an accident, would turn out to be much more than that. When detectives found letters Amber had left behind, they would finally reveal the truth of what really happened.  Written by Michael Dunphy Jr., Executive Produced by Michael Ojibway.  Special Thanks to Jessica Yergin, Sandy Machado, & The Misery Machine Podcast.   Visit Invisible Choir on the web:  Patreon - Invisible Choir Premium: https://www.patreon.com/InvisibleChoir  Website: https://www.invisiblechoir.com/  Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/InvisibleChoirPodcast/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/invisiblechoir/ Twitter: https://twitter.com/InvisibleChoir   Written/Audio Sources:  Why I am a teacher by Amber Guichelaar 'Am I safe sleeping next to him?': Murder victim's words expose husband | WOODTV.com Amber Guichelaar Obituary (1987 - 2020) - Grand Rapids, MI State of Michigan vs. Richard Guichelaar Kentwood man pleads in strangulation death of pregnant wife - mlive.com 'Beyond comprehension,' judge says in sentencing Kentwood man who killed pregnant wife - mlive.com Pregnant Michigan Teacher Strangled To Death By Her Husband, Authorities Say George Guichelaar: LinkedIn George Guichelaar: Forced to Choose R.
