The Secret Life of Pets (2016) Family Movie Review | Ep. 111

Hey! I'd love to hear your thoughts, send me a voice note.Ever wonder what your pets really do the moment you leave the house? On this family movie review, Isaac and Seth bring real film analysis and honest movie reviews to Illumination's The Secret Life of Pets (2016) — revisiting this nostalgic, wholesome film to ask: does it still fetch laughs a decade later, or has it rolled over and played dead? They break down Max and Duke's rocky road to friendship after getting lost in the city, Snowball's scene-stealing revenge plot voiced by Kevin Hart, and the surprisingly dark humor sprinkled throughout — plus a little classic movie analysis of why this original story (not a sequel, not based on a book) became the first film in history to open over $100 million without either.Fun facts you'll want to share: Gru from Despicable Me makes a blink-and-you'll-miss-it cameo walking his dog early in the film. Will Smith and Chris Rock were both considered for the role of Snowball before Kevin Hart made it his own. Plus the Kid Test across all four of Isaac's kids, and the official rating — a rare unanimous decision this time. Does it go home, get watched at Grandma's, or get hidden in the attic?⏱️ TIMESTAMPS 0:00 – Intro: A Nostalgic Family Movie Review Begins 2:07 – Film Facts & Movie Reviews Roundup 3:27 – Granny's Family-Friendly Rating 5:35 – First Memories & 10 Years of Nostalgia 7:59 – Plot Rewind: Full Film Analysis Begins 10:45 – Kids Movies Character Breakdown 18:36 – Favorite Quotes & Scenes 22:58 – Fun Facts Behind This Family Movie 25:12 – Trivia: Does This Nostalgic Film Hold Any Secrets? 28:08 – What Other Movie Reviews Are Saying 30:20 – The Kid Test 32:38 – Our Official Family Movie Review Rating 35:33 – Outro & Where to Find UsWe've also partnered with Big Poppin' LLC for our own custom flavor — "Grandma's Punch-Aid"!
