The Secret Place and Fresh Oil From His Presence

In Episode 8 of the Behold the Bride series, Sylvia Colville continues Created in the Image of God on Radio Cape Pulpit 729 AM, exploring “the secret place, fresh oil from his presence.” The episode looks at how believers are called to reflect the image of God and become light bearers by spending time in His presence and allowing His light to transform their lives. Sylvia uses the picture of an ancient Jewish wedding to explain the relationship between Christ and His bride, highlighting Jesus as the bridegroom and the Holy Spirit as the one who helps prepare the bride. She also discusses the importance of keeping our spiritual “lamp” burning and maintaining our first love for God rather than allowing our relationship with Him to become routine. The episode then focuses on the secret place as a place of prayer, worship, intimacy and relationship with God. Drawing from Scripture and examples such as Moses and David, Sylvia encourages listeners to intentionally seek God, draw near to Him and develop a deeper sensitivity to His presence and voice. The episode closes by encouraging listeners to seek God wholeheartedly and allowing the Holy Spirit to teach them how to draw closer to the Father and the Lord.
