The Secret to Joy

Today's Promise: Psalm 16:11 Joy is not something we have to manufacture. It comes from being in God's presence. The closer we draw to Him, the more His joy fills our lives. Jesus was not a gloomy, pious person walking around with a frown on His face. There was joy in His life, and as His followers, joy should be a natural expression of our relationship with Him.   The Psalmist says, "In Your presence is fullness of joy." Notice he didn't simply say joy. He said the fullness of joy. That means overflowing joy. Joy that is more than enough.   Maybe your joy has been running a little low lately. If so, don't look for joy in the things this world offers. Take a few quiet moments and get alone with God. Open His Word. Talk to Him. Rest in His presence. As you draw near to Him, allow His joy to fill you and overflow into every part of your life.
