The Selfish Code: Genes, Memes, and Evolutionary Strategy
from Curiosophy: A Future Forward Cast. Hosted by Future Center Ventures, Mark M. Whelan
Discover the hidden strategies driving life in The Selfish Code, a podcast inspired by Richard Dawkins’ groundbreaking work The Selfish Gene. Explore how the selfishness of genes underpins altruistic behaviors through mechanisms like kin selection and reciprocal altruism. Using vivid analogies, game theory, and simulations, we unravel the dynamics of cooperation, aggression, and the evolutionary “battle of the sexes.” Dive into the fascinating parallel between genetic and cultural evolution with the concept of memes—units of cultural transmission shaping human history. Whether you’re a biology enthusiast or curious about evolution’s secrets, this podcast reveals the code that drives both life and culture.
