This week, Josh Butler starts us in our new sermon series titled The Servant King, a study of Isaiah 40-55; a unified poem that marks the beginning of Isaiah’s “book of comfort,” so named because Isaiah 40 opens with, “Comfort, comfort my people, says your God.”It’s a poem that begins with the glory and greatness of God and concludes with a reflection on the pinnacle of God’s greatness — the suffering and substitutionary death of the Suffering Servant, Jesus Christ.
