What is the shadow? Why do we avoid it? And why does it run our lives until we make it conscious? In this episode of Raw Conversations with Corinne Blum, we’ll look at these three questions and why doing the shadow work is so important for our happiness and well being. A preview into this episode: The shadow isn’t the sum of all the “negative,” bad parts of who you are and should aim to get rid of. The shadow simply represents all the parts of you that you don’t want to look at because they are the parts of you that hurt. We don’t often want to look at our discomfort because, well, it can be painful, scary, vulnerable and often feel shameful and that’s why we avoid our shadow. But the shadow isn’t something to push away. It is something to walk towards with curiosity and compassion for it holds the key to our transformation and happiness. By accepting our shadow as a scared, hurt part of us that simply needs our loving attention, we have the opportunity to transmute our pain and fear into a comforting sense of true self-acceptance and love-from the inside out. Ultimately, by embracing our shadow and accepting our entire selves, we are cultivating a healthy relationship with ourselves; creating a bond and an inner trust that runs so deep within ourselves, that we never truly feel alone or unloved again. Loving you from afar, Corinne
