The Shaggy Man of Oz (Book #38) | Classic Stories

from Ririro.com - Kids Stories (6-10 Years) · host Ririro

In The Shaggy Man of Oz, by Jack Snow, twins Twink and Tom are magically transported from their Buffalo home by a wooden clown, Twiffle, to the Isle of Conjo, where the selfish wizard Conjo plans to erase their memories. They are soon joined by the Shaggy Man, sent by Ozma to have Conjo repair the broken Love Magnet. After discovering Conjo's treachery (he stole Shaggy's Magic Compass and planned to keep the children), Twiffle helps them escape in Conjo's Airmobile, only to get stranded in Hightown, a city in the sky with no gravity. After further misadventures in the Valley of Romance (where Shaggy is enchanted to be an actor and Tom uses the Love Magnet to save everyone), they team up with the King of the Fairy Beavers to journey to Oz via the Nome King's tunnel. Back in Oz, Conjo has used the stolen compass to reach the Emerald City and seize the Wizard's magic tools, but he's quickly defeated when the Beaver King uses water from the Fountain of Oblivion on him. With order restored, Ozma uses the Magic Belt to return Twink and Tom safely home. This book highlights themes of friendship, ingenuity, the consequences of selfishness, and the rescue of those in peril, all wrapped in a classic Oz adventure.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/ririro-com-kids-stories-6-10-years--6564597/support.
