Mt. Olive Baptist Church | 4/9/23 Mark 14:327-31 The Shepherd Struck God will strike the Shepherd The shepherd’s job was to protect the sheep from the enemy, even if it meant sacrificing himself. The brutal Roman beating before the crucifixion was carried out knowing that the person was not going to survive. The cross was designed to make death as slow and cruel as possible. The cross shows the greatness of God’s love and the seriousness of our sin. The only hope we have is resurrection, and that is what Jesus accomplished.
