Blood status has been a controversial and longstanding source of division and prejudice in the Wizarding World, and it all stems from the categorization of magical bloodlines into pure-bloods, half-bloods, and muggle-borns. This becomes increasingly confusing when considered in tandem with his own ego, as he hardly seems like the type of person to undermine his own identity.
