‘The Silent Civil War’ With Author & Uncle of George Floyd, Selwyn Jones

On this episode of The Power of Love with TJ & Taj Jackson we welcome back Uncle of George Floyd & Author of ‘The Silent Civil War: How The Murder Of My Nephew George Exposed The Hidden Depths Of Racism In America’, Selwyn Jones. Selwyn joins us to discuss the release of his upcoming book (February 2023) which is described as ‘a raw discussion of racism in America’, co-authored by Selwyn Jones and Nan O'Brien. The book presents an honest portrait of the subtle cultural divisiveness that has quietly been waged in American society against the Black Community for generations - the Silent Civil War - which can no longer be hidden beneath a facade of racial equality and political correctness. Through the use of personal anecdotes of Selwyn’s life as the son of a North Carolina sharecropper raised in abject poverty, combined with facts and figures, this landmark book provides irrefutable evidence of the true landscape of racial disparities in America today, and the causative impact George’s murder had on that understanding. Uniquely, Selwyn Jones, who is African American, and Nan O’Brien, who is Caucasian, have co-authored this book to reach the broadest, most diverse audience possible, with both authors holding the belief that the only way to bring diverse people together is to lead by example.
