The Silo at Blue Mound Road

from Holler Tales — Fexingo Horror · host Fexingo

In the fall of 1998, a county road crew outside Draper, Ohio found a grain silo that hadn't been opened in forty years. The farmer who owned it had disappeared the same year it was sealed. When the welder cut through the rusted hatch, what came out wasn't grain. I heard this story from a retired highway patrolman named Harlan, who was first on the scene. He told me about the heat that hit them first—dry and sweet, like something left too long in an attic. Then the sound. A low hum, almost below hearing, that made his fillings ache. Inside, the silo was empty except for a single pair of boots standing upright in the center, and a calendar on the wall still showing October 1958. The boots belonged to the missing farmer. They were still laced. This is what Harlan saw before they sealed it back up and poured concrete over the hatch. He retired the next day and never drove past Blue Mound Road again. #FexingoHorror #HorrorPodcast #HollerTales #Silo #BlueMoundRoad #DraperOhio #GrainSilo #MissingFarmer #Boots #Calendar #1958 #CountyRoad #Harlan #Heat #Hum #Concrete #AppalachianHorror #RuralHorror Keep every episode free: buymeacoffee.com/fexingo
